SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant invites applications for the first phase of Apprenticeship Training under the Apprentices Act, 1961.
Open Positions:
- Trade Apprentices (ITI Passed out): 213 vacancies
- Technician Apprentices (Diploma Passed out): 136 vacancies
- Graduate Apprentices (B.Tech Passed out): 51 vacancies
Eligibility Criteria:
- Age: Minimum 18 years and maximum 28 years as on 10th August, 2024.
- Stipend: Monthly stipend as per Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules 1992.
Selection Process:
Selection will be based on merit, considering the percentage of final marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualifications.

How to Apply:
- For Trade Apprentices (ITI): Register on Apprenticeship India Portal. After registration, login, search for SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant under Apprenticeship Opportunity, and apply for the respective trade.
- For Graduate/Technician Apprentices (Degree/Diploma): Register on NATS Portal. After registration, login, find Steel Authority of India Limited, Rourkela Steel Plant, and apply in the respective branch of engineering.
Note:
- Preference will be given to eligible residents of Sundargarh District, Odisha. Applications from other districts of Odisha and then the rest of India will be considered only if vacancies remain unfilled.
- The management reserves the right to cancel the selection process or modify the number of vacancies at any time.
- There is no obligation for SAIL to offer regular employment to apprentices after the completion of the apprenticeship training.
